The Tate Family

There is something special about watching your friends become parents. This mama however holds a special place in my heart as she is not only a friend, but she is my virtual assistant. We both have been photographers in the Columbus wedding industry for YEARS before finally meeting in person. However, all worth it when meeting each other for the first time to celebrate the miracle that now goes by Silas.

The Tate’s have a truly wild story when it comes down to their second pregnancy and arrival of baby boy #2. In the beginning of Victoria’s pregnancy she was originally told she had a molar pregnancy and the odds of a viable baby forming was less than 1%. As the weeks progressed, daily bloodwork made her doctor pause on any procedures. They decided to wait it out because by the numbers, something didn’t feel right. It was an exhausting experience never knowing whether or not she could soak in the growing belly. Our daily texts were always of encouragement and also distraction. Months later, at the start of a day that was suppose to be full of appointments, up on the screen of the ultrasound was a healthy, thriving baby and the 5cm tumor that Victoria had been carrying disappeared. I was one of the first handful of calls and let’s just say we celebrated as loud as we could.

When I got news that Silas was going to make it my heart filled with joy which made it a no-brainer when Victoria asked if I’d take her maternity photos. On the day of, this family just glowed. Even with an under-the-weather toddler (which we all know can be unpredictable), Gideon managed to smile and laugh till it was time for a nap.

Now this sweet boy will be turning 1 and he has done nothing but bring joy to every facetime Victoria and I have exchanged. Can’t wait to see this family again!
