My Family at the Sunflower Field

Sunflowers are in full bloom here in central Ohio and I am so happy! There really is nothing quite as special as a field overflowing with big yellow sunflowers! I’m not sure what it is about these flowers in particular, but they stir up such fun and joyful memories for me. I was thrilled to have the chance to let my girls experience the magic too during our recent adventure to the country. We packed up our mini van and headed out to Hendren Farm in Johnstown, OH and it did not disappoint. You pay $5 a person for access to the field to pick blooms and run among the rows and rows of sunflowers taking photos along the way. The Hendren Farm Market had a wonderful selection of sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, and delicious hand pies my girls devoured. The field is only 20 minutes from downtown Columbus and certainly worth the trip if you ask me. If it wasn’t for the downpour of rain that cut our visit short I’m positive my girls could have spent hours exploring, chasing butterflies, and catching grasshoppers.
