Sharon Woods Sunset Engagement Session in Westerville, Ohio
Alyssa & Andy
I am so thrilled to share Alyssa and Andy’s sunset engagement session at Sharon Woods in Westerville! I’ve coined them my celebrity couple because I swear, they are perfect look-a-likes to Bradley Cooper and a blonde Emilia Clarke (as Daenerys from GOT) and I can’t wait to hear if you agree! I can’t be too far off because they both admitted that they’ve heard it before from total strangers! haha Anyways, not only are they a gorgeous couple, but they are also such genuinely kind and sweet people.
There are not many silver linings to COVID-19, but this couple is definitely one for me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of meeting and working with them as coronavirus has drastically impacted their original wedding plans. They were scheduled to have a destination wedding in Jamaica over the Fourth of July, but sadly the resort closed during the pandemic. They decided they still wanted a holiday weekend, so they changed their date from 7/5 to 9/6 and started looking for local Columbus wedding venues. They loved the aesthetic of The Joseph and felt the space was perfect to host a small, intimate wedding consisting of only family.
Our Love Story
“Andy and I met the now, way too common way of using a dating app. I happened to be in Columbus one weekend when we "matched". I was living in Cincinnati at the time and was only back in town periodically to see friends and family. That particular weekend I ended up being home because my plans to go to Nashville with girlfriends had fallen through and l still had the PTO on the calendar. I figured why not spend the weekend with my family instead. Andy messaged me on a Saturday, and we had chatted for a while before we decided to try to meet up before I left to go back to Cincinnati. We agreed to meet at the Starbucks in Bexley. We had our first meeting/ unofficial "date" in the vault at Starbucks. Andy, of course, was super punctual and already there when I walked in. (He always thinks I am late but, in all honesty, - I am always early, he's just super, super early.) The date went well, and I was impressed with how honest, straight forward, and open he was. We ended up having mutual friends in common. I knew his cousins from high school. One of the things I adore about Andy is his honesty and loyalty. He is so trusting and supportive. It was very refreshing meeting someone that I felt I could really trust. Fast forward a year (and many dates in both cities), and I decided I was over driving back and forth from Cincinnati to Columbus way too often. I would wake up at 5am on Mondays and drive straight in for work in Cincinnati. I moved into Andy's house and that was when I knew our relationship really felt right. A little over three years after we first met up in the Bexley Starbucks, he took me back there the day after Christmas and proposed.”
