Classic Wedding at the Athletic Club of Columbus

Kelly and Zak’s classic wedding at The Athletic Club of Columbus is one for the books. Everything came together so effortlessly just like the smiles and laughter that was shared between everyone present. I also knew from the moment I found out Aisle and Co. was the planner that this day was going to be extra magical.

The day started with an invitation suite by Avant-Guard Impressions. The debossed lettering and custom wax seal really represented the personalities of Kelly and Zak. Simple, classic, and undoubtedly beautiful. The elegant details did not stop there though, Kelly’s Vera Wang gown from La Jeune Mariee made every bridesmaid gasp when turning for a big reveal. The finishing touches to Kelly’s look was her layered veil and crisp white bouquet by Madison House Design.

Zak eagerly had to wait for the aisle to be reunited with his Ocean Blue, referring to Kelly and her striking blue eyes. They have captivated him since the day they met and took his breath away as the doors to the sanctuary opened.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the State House for portraits and wedding party photos where Kelly whipped out a gorgeous tan fur that is her cousin Linda’s, who is like a grandmother to her, and inside it has her initials monogrammed. This was special to Kelly since Linda’s health wasn’t the best at the time and she was unable to attend.

However, as soon as we got to the Athletic Club, the fur was off and the dancing shoes were on. The reception space was made bright with tall transparent votives that were filled with fluffy gatherings of greenery and white hydrangeas. Romantic candle light sat around matte gold place settings and custom menus at each seat. Throughout the night, drinks weren’t the only signature item on the menu. Guests could enjoy a hand-rolled cigar, fresh by Don Rey Cigars or a mini pint of ice cream from the best of the best, Jeni’s! Tommy from Diamond Entertainment kept everyone on the dance floor till the night was official over. It was bittersweet that the night had an end, but that meant this next chapter for Kelly and Zak was just the beginning!
