Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph Wedding in Columbus, OH

Caroline + Mitch

I know I’m guilty of saying this too often, but it’s true — Caroline and Mitch had the PERFECT wedding day! It was seriously just the most stunning wedding with incredibly thoughtful details weaved throughout the entire day. Everything was beautifully orchestrated, from the fun spa room with giant bride balloons to the late night treats of donuts and ice cream and everything in between!

Caroline is from New Albany and Mitch grew up in Houston. The two met during college in Indiana and have since lived up and down the east coast together calling Miami, D.C. and Boston home. There next adventure is taking them down to Texas and I know no matter where they end up they will be happy. They are the kind of people who take the party with them wherever they go!

Their wedding day started in the spa room and presidential suite at The Joseph where everyone got hair and makeup done. This is the perfect time to remind future brides to be intentional and thoughtful about where you chose to get ready for your big day. As you can see— the wonderful window light that flooded these areas made for some gorgeous photo opportunities!

Caroline was wearing the Victoria Theia Bridal gown and looked absolute stunning in it. I loved how it fit the venue so well, a classic dress with a modern flair. Her bridesmaids wore all different style blush colored dresses that accented the groomsmen’s gray suits beautifully.

I suggested we do a first look with her bridesmaids because the spa room had great sliding doors that allowed her to be tucked away for the reveal and I’m so glad we did! It was such a sweet moment enjoyed between all her best friends.

The couple shared a private first look on the second floor of The Joseph and Mitch’s reaction was exactly what you would hope for. He was just blown away when he saw his bride for the first time and it was such a privilege to capture it. Following their first look we headed outside for photos in front of the boutique hotel in the Short North and then walked over to Goodale Park.

The Ketubah signing in the Presidential Suite was one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s such an intimate moment between the bride and groom as they are surrounded by their closest friends and family. Following the Ketubah signing everyone got set for the ceremony. The space was decorated with white hydrangeas and roses and soft candle light. The chuppah was overflowing with fresh blooms and the wedding ceremony had the perfect mix of emotional moments and light-hearted laughs.

Hors d’oeuvres were served in the balcony area of the hotel while we snuck outside for a few sunset photos with just Caroline and Mitch. As we strolled the streets of the Short North onlookers yelled “congratulations!” out the windows of their car. Caroline said, “I want to live in Columbus, everyone is so nice here!” and to that I couldn’t agree more— I love Columbus for that very reason. We got the most gorgeous golden glow during their portrait time exploring the side alleys of the Short North. It as a nice break from the crowd for them to enjoy some quality alone time before the festivities really got underway.

Just wait until you get a peek into the reception space! It was transformed with stunning flowers, white taper candles and gold accents. The live band gave the reception such a fun vibe and the dance floor was PACKED all night long. Mitch surprised everyone with a dance for Caroline and it was hilarious— be sure to scroll down to check out the guests reactions!

By far my very favorite moment of the day was when Mitch’s grandmother was hoisted up in the chair during the Hora. She is 79-years-old and didn’t slow down for a moment.

They served donuts for From Scratch Cupcakes and Graeters ice cream. So, basically they made all my dreams come true!

It was such a fun celebration and I truly feel honored to have been a part of it!

Congratulations again Caroline and Mitch!

Because I think everything was executed so well, I’ve created a list of ideas for future brides and grooms to borrow! I hope it helps! :)
