Juniper Rooftop Engagement Session In Columbus, OH

This engagement session felt a little more like a celebration than most because Maria and Kyle both just graduated from dental school at The Ohio State University! I thought Juniper Rooftop would be the perfect spot to kick off their session with a few cocktails and kisses. I've been dying to get a couple into this incredible space from the moment it opened and it didn't disappoint!

Once their drinks were gone we stopped over to Goodale Park for a few photos among the beautiful magnolia and cherry blossoms! I can never pass up an opportunity to grab photos there while everything is blooming because they don't last very long, but it's always breathtaking. We ended their session strolling German Village exploring all the adorable side streets and shops. We truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect night. 

One of my favorite parts of an engagement session is simply having the opportunity to spend more time with my clients and getting to know them even better! Maria and Kyle met at school and it started as a friendship, but after their first semester together they quickly realized what they had was more. After they started dating they made the conscious decision to not talk during school hours because they were worried they would get tired of spending all their time together. Fortunately, that fear quickly faded, and they said it was so wonderful being able to work and study together. 

Kyle proposed at Christmas with a customized engagement blend from a coffee roaster in his home town. They had promised to not do gifts last year and when Maria saw the present she was initially annoyed he didn't follow the rules, but then was relieved to see it was something small-- just a bag of coffee. It didn't register to her until after Kyle got down on one knee to pop the question that is was much more than coffee beans! 

Now that they've finished dental school they are heading to Cincinnati where Maria found a job and Kyle will be doing one additional year of training. The wedding will be next summer at St. Charles Walter Commons where Maria has always dreamed of getting married. I can't wait!
