Inverness Club Wedding in Toledo, Ohio
Intimate Country Club Wedding
Sara + Ryan
Ohio was showing off for Sara and Ryan’s wedding day! It was one of those perfect days, as the seasons transition between summer and fall; where the sun is warm, but there is a refreshing crispness in the air as the leaves are just starting to turn. You couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque afternoon for an outdoor ceremony on the edge of the gorgeous Inverness Club golf course with its rolling hills and colorful trees in the distance.
Sara and her friends stayed at the Byron Nelson House and spent the morning together enjoying brunch and having their hair and makeup done, while Ryan and his groomsmen got ready at the S.P. Jermain House. The guest homes are adjacent to the Inverness Club and are both wonderful gathering spaces for the wedding party to relax and enjoy the start of the day.
Sara slipped into her stunning Carolina Herrera gown with the help of her mom and sister in the sunroom of the guest home where light flooded the white space, making for dreamy portraits. Once she was dressed, Sara’s mom surprised her with her grandfather’s monogrammed cufflinks that were tucked inside the pocket of her wedding dress. Sara’s mom had secretly asked the seamstress to add a loop to secure them so Sara could keep them close to commemorate her grandparents. Tears were flowing as Sara’s sister placed her pearl veil and she shared a first look with her father.
I was blown away by how regal Sara looked— I kept telling her all day she looked like a movie star with her glamorous hairstyle and perfect lip color! Based on Ryan’s reaction to seeing her during their first look I would say he agreed. We took the majority of their portraits down the aisle of their ceremony. It was such a beautiful scene with huge floral arrangements lining the path with the course in the background.
We need to take a moment and pause to discuss how unbelievably stunning the florals were!Sara’s bouquet alone was a complete masterpiece; not to mention all the other spaces that were overflowing with fresh blooms and accented artichoke hearts that added such an interesting and unique texture. In Bloom truly blew me away with their work!
The ceremony set up was lovely with a birch arch decorated with gorgeous blooms anchoring the space. I love that they had nice shawls draping over the chairs for guests to stay warm and glass chandeliers hanging from a nearby tree to add an extra element of atmosphere to the area. Sara and Ryan had such a sweet ceremony where they shared many laughs and heartfelt words. The entire ceremony was live-streamed for guests who were unable to attend. Because of the pandemic, Sara and Ryan chose to drastically downsize their original guest list, but they wanted to be sure to include all those who could no longer attend in person. Following the ceremony they had a few minutes to chat with their virtual guests and hear all their well wishes and words of congratulations. After a few more golden hour portraits Sara and Ryan enjoyed cocktail hour with their guest’s on the outdoor patio space.
When I first walked into the reception my jaw hit the floor. Just wait until you scroll down and see this room! It was simultaneously grand and awe-inspiring, while also feeling very cozy and intimate. The vaulted ceilings with chandeliers covered in floral accents drew your eye up to the warm bistro lights. The wooden fireplace adorned with burning candles and yet more florals took centerstage. The tables had each guests name printed on the menu as a seating chart with inviting bottles of wine, glassware, flowers and candles thoughtfully placed.
Guests enjoyed a delicious seated meal and live music from E3 Detroit. It was a lovely evening full of so much joy. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day for Sara and Ryan.
