Golden Engagement Session around Downtown Columbus

I love spending sunny days photographing my couple’s sweet engagement sessions in downtown Columbus. When meeting Samantha and Max and learning about their love story, it only made sense when planning their session that we go back to the place that has so much meaning and has been a part of their most treasured moments, Franklin Park Conservatory.

Samantha and Max a #bumblesuccessstory and shortly after connecting on the app, wasted zero time in planning their first date. Max invited Samantha to the Asian Festival at Franklin Park where they explored and ate lunch under a tree. The date didn’t stop there as great conversation led them to extending the night at a local bar and then at Max/s friends apartment. Looking back they laugh and want to give advice to others: it is not suggested to spend 8 hours with someone the first time you meet them. 

After their 8 hour first date, Max wasn’t convinced that a second date was needed but his roommates changed his mind. Samantha led the second date with dinner at her place and once Max saw Samantha kneading the dough to make fresh Stromboli, his now favorite meal, he knew it was love. 

 Years later they moved in together with marriage on their mind. Max was going to propose on top of a mountain somewhere in Oregon, but 2020 did not go as planned for them. So he improvised and came up with a new idea and proposed during a sweet picnic in the same spot that they sat in Franklin Park for their first date. 

That’s what brings us to their beautiful Franklin Park session. It was so beautiful and the sun hit perfectly on the lush florals and buildings. It helped recreate all the magical feels that the location has brought in the past.

I cannot wait to celebrate their wedding today at the Columbus Museum of Art and High Line Car House!
