Aisle & Co. : Columbus Wedding Vendor Spotlight
I'm so thrilled to be starting a new category on my blog featuring some amazing Columbus wedding vendors! My hope is for this to be a valuable resource for newly engaged couples to offer insight on the planning process from some of the best vendors in the city. From planners, florists, printing studios, bridal boutiques, and more you will gain some insider information on how best to plan your big day!
I can't think of a better person to kick off these spotlights than Natasha Churches, Columbus wedding planner and owner of Aisle & Co.
I first met Natasha a few years ago when we worked together on Andria and Vinnie's gorgeous winter wedding at The Country Club at Muirfield Village. I had collaborated with planners in the past, but none as engaged and helpful as Natasha. She and her team had every last detail nailed down and were there to help make sure things ran smoothly. She was able to take away any stress from the day for not only the bride and groom's perspective, but also the entire family, wedding party, and all of the other vendors (including me!).
Perfectly Planned Weddings is such an awesome resource and I can't recommend Natasha and her team more! I love this Q+A style interview because it allowed me to pick Natasha's brain a bit and get to know her on an even more personal level. I'm thrilled to be sharing this all with you--enjoy!
How did you get started in this business?
This is a hard one. I have a story that led me to making this my full time career. It starts with a major life change and ends in a success story. But overall, I have always considered planning events to be a passion of mine. Even my 13th birthday I planned was, if I do say so myself, pretty badass. All planned by me. Djs, appetizers and a venue... I planned it all. I think party planning has always been in my blood. But it took some major life events for me to take the leap and trust that I could do this as a career.
What keeps you coming back day after day?
This is not my job... its my lifestyle. Truly it is. I have never been so happy in a career field. This is a direct result of my clients. They are amazing. Everyday I am inspired by making the biggest day of
How would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Nothing in moderation. I give 100 in all that I do.
How would you describe your style in business/ relationships with your clients?
I've thought about this a lot... what kind of professional I want to be. And I've come to the conclusion that the relationship I have with my clients can be compared to the relationship a student has with their school counselor; I am professional, goal driven and our relationships have boundaries...while at the same time I have an intimate connection that only the client and I get to engage in. Its really precious if you think about it. I want to be a support and guidance for my clients, but also impress the hell out of them with my professionalism and expertise.
Where do you do your best work?
This one corner, in this one seat.. at a Starbucks in New Albany. The energy and the people are my muse.
What is the difference between a wedding planner and coordinator?
This is an entirely different blog post, but to be simple; A coordinator- coordinates what the couple has planned. A planner- is there the entire process planning from A to Z.
How would you describe clients who are a great fit for you?
I personally do not believe in "ideal clients". I trust that I am skilled and savvy enough to conquer any client the universe may bring my way. If you're madly in love, excited about your wedding and can't wait to party... I'm your girl.
What was one of your favorite weddings you worked on, and why?
Ah! This is SO hard. I'd had to say a Nigerian wedding I was a part of at The Hilton Easton. The most fun party I've ever been to.
What has surprised you the most about your business?
I knew I'd be successful.. but I didn't think it would happen this fast.
What is the one thing you'd like a prospective bride to know about you?
I will undoubtedly cry tears of joy at some point on your wedding day.
Where are you from, and how did you end up in Columbus?
I am from Columbus! It's my city and I wouldn't have it any other way! I know the city like the back of my hand.
What is your favorite Columbus restaurant?
Basi Italia. I wished I lived here.
What is your favorite thing to do in Columbus?
Attend weddings. =) Because we have some amazing venues!!!
What do you love to do when you're not working?
Host dinner parties or wine nights with my friends.
Why should couples invest with Perfectly Planned Weddings?
You will not have someone who will invest in your wedding as much as we do. We go above and beyond. I had a bride say once; "OMG. You were so amazing. I feel like I owe you so much more money! You did too much!"
What do you want brides and other wedding vendors to know about you and your services?
We are affordable! We have multiple senior planners on staff!
